Hampshire Wedding Photography – Oakley Hall

Sarah got ready with her bridesmaid, flower girls and friends at Oakley Hall and was driven to the church in a beautiful black & white classic wedding car. Richard got ready in an adjacent room with his best man, father and ushers.

Sarah and Richard were then married in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday 14th August at 1400hrs. The wedding party then returned to Oakley Hall for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.

The weather held out long enough to get all the group photos in the lovely grounds at Oakley Hall before the wedding breakfast. The heavens then duly opened for the rest of the evening.

Bluebell Walks, Surrey

All these bluebell photos were taken in May 2009 & 2010 on different days and at different times of the day. It was a very early start to get some of the dawn photos as I needed to walk for 40 minutes to get to this location near Guildford.

The camera was mounted on a tripod, a wired remote was used and mirror lock-up was also turned on to minimise any vibrations, especially as some of the shots were at ISO50.

These are some of my favourite photos from the set, please click on the thumbnails to see larger photos and thanks for looking:

Helen & Doug’s Wedding at Grittenham Barn, West Sussex

It was a great privilege to shoot Helen and Doug’s wedding at Grittenham Barn in Tillington, West Sussex at the end of May. They were married at 2pm in this lovely converted barn, although the weather was against us on their wedding day. The sun did threaten to appear at one time after the wedding ceremony which allowed us to get outside for some of the photos.

Samantha & Andrew’s Wedding in Liphook, Hampshire

It was a great privilege to shoot Samantha and Andrew’s wedding in Liphook, Hampshire in April. They were married at the Church of Immaculate Conception in Liphook and then chauffeur driven in a classic Bentley to a friends private converted barn in Ropley, Hampshire. It was a very warm, bright and sunny day for a mid-April wedding.

Linda & Jelte’s Wedding at Cain Manor, Hampshire

It was a great privilege to shoot Linda and Jelte’s wedding at Cain Manor in Hampshire early in March. Family and friends gathered from many countries to witness Linda and Jelte’s wedding at the stunning Cain Manor venue set overlooking the beautiful Hampshire countryside. The forecast was a little tentative leading up to the day, but it remained a dry sunny day with a slight cool breeze as you might expect at that time of year.

A fairly challenging venue to shoot with all varying degrees of available light, but one where my Canon EOS 5D MkII and pro series lenses really helped. Lenses used: EF 50mm f1.4 USM and EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM.

Lake District, Cumbria

These are some of my favourite photographs taken over several visits to the Lake District with my girlfriend, Caroline during 2009. Walking in this glorious part of the country, it’s a serious matter of traveling with minimal photography equipment as it can become exhausting with the added weight. As well as photography equipment, it’s also advisable to walk with other basic survival equipment, such as water, snacks, warm and waterproof clothing, maps and comfortable walking boots are essential as you can sometimes be out for a long time without even realising it.

Guildford under Snow, Surrey

While the country ground to a halt over the last few weeks, it was a great opportunity to get out and about with my camera around Guildford, Surrey. I managed to get out for a 4 hour walk in the snow on a beautiful sunny day while over 12 inches of snow lay on the ground on parts of Pewley Down and St. Martha’s Hill.
